Evening Classes soon to come.

RNS classes are taught in various locations throughout the metropolitan area.

2. Do I have to attend every class?

Our sessions include 10 classes per session for 4 sessions (approx. 40 weeks). Each class is structured so that each lesson builds upon previous lessons.   However, we realize that other obligations may prevent you from attending every class.  However, we make sure that students who need specialized help are caught up on the instruction they missed.  Usually this  means working one-on-one with other students during class or  with instructor(s). Then you have “homework” to do to maintain the lessons learned. More importantly, each student should practice, practice, and more practice.

3. What do I wear to class?

Since hand dance is considered a choice of exercise, just like going to the gym, you should dress comfortably.  It is a matter of preference but keep in mind one thing:  you will sweat!

4. What about shoes?

As an advocate dancer, appropriate shoes play an important role. Just like going to the gym you wear sneakers/tennis shoes, dancing requires the appropriate shoes as well. They should have either leather or suede soles so that you can spin safely and glide across the floor easily.  Shoes with rubber soles are not good for dancing, in fact they prohibit you a great deal. Many ladies prefer to learn to dance in the shoes with heels they plan to wear when they go out dancing. Just be cognizant of the  heel height.  For recommendations on shoe types and where to purchase them please ask the instructor.

5. Do I need to bring a partner?

We believe hand dancing to be a  fun activity for all to enjoy. We love it when spouses, significant others and friends sign up together.   However, it is not necessary to bring a partner.

6. Where can I purchase Hand Dance music?

RNS will give you a class cd full of the latest music that you will hear in the clubs and other hand dance venues. However, if you want a special cd, then you can purchase one at a nominal price of $5.00.
